Last weekend I took my niece for a weekend trip to Croatia.
Nothing too excited for me. As an adult living in the Netherlands, travel is part of my lifestyle. But for her, it was a whole set of new experiences.
First time in an airplane. And the first time seeing mountains. Also the first time in a taxi. And swimming in a clear blue sea.
The astonishment made me smile. And I was happy I could share this with her. It learned me to look through the eyes of a child again.
And I remembered the quote of Paulo Coelho:
If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine, it is lethal
Let’s look more often through the lens of a child. With astonishment. And play.
Routine can obstruct our development. Adventure makes us grow in life.
Do you escape your routine once in a while?
